What We Think

Chabon’s novel carries its fair share of identity themes, but generally uses them to develop rich characters rather than to serve as a soapbox. Some revisionism and ideological lens are present, but it stops well short of maximum "woke" territory. Non-woke readers will notice, but won’t be overwhelmed.
