“Alfie” (2004) spends more time exploring the flaws of its lead character than ticking woke boxes. Casting and characterization remain true to the film’s playboy premise; there’s little evidence of forced representation, identity pandering, or hyper-competent diverse characters. The narrative mostly prioritizes traditional rom-com tropes over ideology.
