Ghosted swaps traditional action-comedy gender roles, with Ana de Armas as the hyper-competent secret agent and Chris Evans as the clueless everyman. While refreshing for some, it feels a bit forced, with characterization leaning heavily on the role reversal rather than organic development. Still, the plot doesn't entirely hijack itself for ideological reasons but can't resist winking at modern expectations.

The film pokes fun at traditional masculinity, Evans’ character is out of his depth and often the butt of the joke, while female competence is dialed up to eleven. There's no overt attack on religion or family, but the ongoing undermining of classic male heroism earns it some points here.

Ghosted doesn’t hammer ideology nonstop, but it’s pretty clear which side of the gender-roles fence it lands on. Anyone with more traditional sensibilities is either irrelevant or the punchline. Still, the film doesn’t outright villainize dissent, but genuine diversity of worldview is pretty much MIA.
