The focus remains on action and suspense, with minimal attention paid to social commentary or forced representation. Frankly, it's refreshingly apolitical by modern standards, with little evidence of narrative being sacrificed for ideological purposes.

There's no overt undermining of family, religion, or traditional values here. The film’s setting focuses on external threats, a giant crocodile and local criminal elements, but avoids modern cultural revisionism or any obvious agenda to subvert traditions. Masculinity, and flawed characters in general, are portrayed matter-of-factly, rather than being pathologized.

Primeval centers on Western journalists dropped into African chaos. While it relies on some clichés, it doesn’t aggressively villainize dissenting viewpoints or offer a lecture in ideological conformity. Different perspectives are present, though empathy for all sides isn’t deeply explored. Still, no heavy-handed monoculture, just a standard genre mash-up.
