Sightless tells a tight psychological thriller without shoehorning in identity-based characterization or checking diversity boxes for their own sake. The protagonist's struggles stem from her blindness and situation, not her social categories, making the story focused and character-driven. Forced representation and overtly flawless diverse characters are not a prominent factor here.

The film doesn't seem obsessed with deconstructing gender roles or ridiculing traditional values. Masculinity and family aren’t central punching bags. Any shifts in power dynamics are in service to the thriller plot rather than ideological reprogramming. It keeps cultural subversion minimal and focuses on classic suspense mechanisms.

Alternative perspectives aren’t demonized, nor does the script require every character to walk in ideological lockstep. The film seems interested in personal trauma and manipulation, not lecturing about sweeping social justice or moral absolutism. Nobody here feels like a cartoonishly bigoted strawman villain.
