The movie largely sticks to its comedic story and doesn't seem obsessed with identity politics or checking diversity boxes. The characters are more driven by absurdity and human flaws than by overtly ideological considerations. However, certain modern winks and irreverent tones can feel a bit like it's trying to subvert the source material for contemporary laughs.

This film gleefully mocks organized religion, authority, and traditional morality. Nuns behave outrageously and traditionally sacred figures are lampooned. It’s clearly not reverential toward faith or traditional values and does enjoy inverting classical notions of piety, which some non-woke audiences may find a bit much.

While the film pushes progressive humor through its irreverence, it isn’t relentlessly woke in the sense of completely purging all opposing worldviews or moral debates. There’s a general modern, snarky outlook but not an overwhelming ideological conformity.
