What We Think

Godard’s ‘Weekend’ isn’t ‘woke’ in the current sense, it’s more a savage attack on Western tradition and bourgeois comfort. While it’s nihilistic and aggressively anti-traditional, it’s not obsessed with the contemporary fixations on identity. Radical, yes; peak ‘woke,’ not quite.
