Super Mario RPG keeps its focus strictly on whimsical adventure and classic hero-versus-villain storytelling. There is no sign of forced representation or identity-driven character choices. The game's cast, Mario, Peach, Bowser, and original characters Geno and Mallow, fit within the established Mario universe without any trace of narrative being bent for ideology.

Traditional values like heroism, friendship, and teamwork remain at the forefront, with no subversion of masculinity, family, or traditional morals. There’s no cultural revisionism or mockery of established roles, Peach is the princess, Mario the hero, and Bowser the not-so-evil villain.
