In our view, "American Princess" leans heavily into its protagonist’s feminist awakening and self-discovery, occasionally sidelining plot cohesion in favor of identity-driven arcs. The show focuses more on themes of empowerment and 'finding oneself' than on organic character growth. While not completely sacrificing narrative for ideology, it does tip the scales at times.

The series often treats traditional values, marriage, family stability, and religion, with a hint of mockery or irrelevance, instead prioritizing individualism and modern gender dynamics. Masculinity tends to get the punchline, while female characters are highlighted as the ones with depth or wisdom.

Alternative worldviews are mostly caricatured or used for comedic effect, with the 'enlightened' perspective clearly preferred. Traditional or dissenting characters are often portrayed as out of touch or obstacles to be overcome, rather than fully developed participants in a pluralistic story.
