Casting and character arcs seem chosen for their fit within this tough environment, not just to tick boxes. Storylines revolve around skill, hard work, and the realities of logging life. Hard to find any deliberate narrative compromise for ideology.

The show highlights traditional masculine roles, family bonds, and respect for manual labor. There’s an authentic depiction of hardworking men and women, and there’s no undermining of tradition or demonizing of logging culture. In fact, it almost feels nostalgic in its respect for these values.
