In our view, this heavy emphasis on sociopolitical identity and virtue signaling occasionally gets in the way of narrative cohesion.

The show repeatedly questions and subverts traditional family roles, middle-class Indian values, and attitudes toward relationships. Masculinity is depicted in a somewhat satirical light, while modern, liberal attitudes are presented as aspirational. Religion and conventional morality don’t play a significant or positive role, which could be seen as rewriting cultural norms for laughs and relatability.
