The narrative at times appears to bend to these ambitions, rather than focusing on cohesive storytelling and nuanced arcs.

The series leans heavily into subverting traditional gender roles, especially by centering Nimue as a hero in a mythos traditionally dominated by men. Themes like faith, knighthood, and legends are reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, undermining the original cultural and moral context. In our opinion, this comes across as a clear attempt at revisionism.

"Cursed" offers little room for traditional viewpoints. Established authority figures and institutions are largely portrayed as antagonistic or corrupt, with dissenting perspectives either vilified or quickly sidelined. There's minimal ideological variety, reinforcing a singular set of values throughout the story.
