The show allows the food and craftsmanship to shine without shoehorning in modern ideological talking points.

The series celebrates Chinese cultural traditions, regional recipes, family ties, and generational knowledge. There’s absolutely no attempt to undermine cultural foundations; in fact, it does the opposite, highlighting the importance of heritage and community. This is about as non-woke as it comes.
