Joe Pickett mostly sticks to classic character-driven storytelling and keeps identity politics in the backseat. The show is centered on a flawed, relatable protagonist and doesn’t seem to force modern ideological checklists onto its cast. Most characters feel rooted in the Wyoming setting and are there for the story, not for a box-ticking roster.
