Knight Flower features a strong female protagonist who, at times, seems to be celebrated more for breaking norms than for narrative-driven reasons. While her character has unique qualities, her standout status at times feels manufactured. However, the show doesn't entirely sideline genuine character development, so it's not at the most extreme end of the spectrum.

The show playfully subverts traditional roles by spotlighting a woman leading a double life, overtly challenging established gender norms in historical settings. While it doesn’t go out of its way to mock tradition, it leans heavily into revisionist territory, reimagining old customs to fit modern sensibilities.

Most alternative perspectives are presented only briefly or through one-dimensional antagonists, with little genuine debate or nuanced dissent. The modern moral lens dominates, leaving minimal room for sincere traditional viewpoints, though it’s not entirely a monoculture.
