Malpractice presents a solid medical thriller, but at times seems eager to spotlight identity-based casting choices and contemporary social issues. While the plot and character tension remain mostly intact, identity occasionally takes precedence over deeper character development. It's not forced to the level of total narrative collapse, but there's certainly a whiff of ideology nudging things along.

The show leans into highlighting workplace inequality and touches on moral dilemmas from a modern perspective. It doesn’t aggressively undermine traditional values, but traditional institutions like family or religion barely register. Masculinity is neither demonized nor celebrated – just largely ignored. There’s an undercurrent that established norms aren’t what matter most.

While diverse experiences are represented, dissenting voices or truly traditional perspectives are thin on the ground. The drama sticks closely to accepted social narratives without much challenge or meaningful depiction of alternative worldviews. Any challenge to modern values is hesitant and mostly superficial.
