In our view, 'Our Cartoon President' repeatedly sacrifices story complexity for ideological satire, emphasizing caricature and identity over nuanced character or plot. Satire is nothing new, but the portrayal of political figures is often shallow and clearly designed to lampoon a particular worldview rather than explore story depth or genuine personality.

The show consistently mocks traditional American values, religion, and masculinity, often depicting conservative characters as outmoded or buffoonish. Family and morality are usually played up for laughs, rather than treated seriously or respected. Classic society touchstones are mostly targets for ridicule.
