Secret Invasion leans heavily on identity-driven casting and plotlines, often elevating representation over narrative depth. Several characters, especially new ones, feel included less for their story value and more as diversity checkboxes. Some familiar characters are given little growth, while new, diverse characters are depicted as borderline flawless, frequently overshadowing the story's stakes.

Traditional institutions like family, masculinity, and patriotism are regularly portrayed with a skeptical or negative spin. The show seems intent on flipping established power dynamics, often diminishing male characters and treating traditional views as barriers or even threats. This undermines any sense of cultural continuity from earlier Marvel entries.

Alternative or non-woke perspectives are almost entirely absent or reduced to caricature-like villains. Dissent gets little room; nearly everyone parrots the same progressive talking points or moral assumptions. There’s hardly any genuine ideological conflict, making the show feel more like a lecture than drama.
