While the series focuses on a male-male romance, it primarily emphasizes character relationships and development rather than ticking identity checkboxes. Characterization is much more about emotional growth than about politics or ideology. The show doesn’t feel motivated by forced representation, it’s a genre piece (BL), not a modern-style quota-fest.

The show lightly subverts some traditional gender roles due to its focus on same-sex relationships, but it’s far from an overt attack on family or cultural norms. Religion and traditional morality aren’t really addressed, keeping the score here quite low. It’s more focused on relationship melodrama than trying to rewrite society.
