The Murders features a mixed-race female lead and embraces diversity. While the lead’s background is central, some viewers may feel character merit occasionally takes a back seat to highlighting identity, and certain narrative choices seem designed to tick representation boxes rather than drive organic storytelling. However, there is still decent character development and police procedural elements hold up reasonably well.
