Traditional families and religion are either played for laughs or written out entirely, while old-school masculinity is gently ribbed or portrayed as clueless compared to their female and queer counterparts. Long-standing local traditions are modernized, sometimes to the point of being unrecognizable, likely to keep up with the times.

Every major character espouses the same trendy worldview, with dissenters used mainly as comic relief or backward stereotypes. In our view, any traditional or alternative voices get a token line (if they're lucky), but real debate or complexity is AWOL.
