"Impostor" (2001) largely sticks to its sci-fi thriller roots, and character choices appear primarily driven by the story rather than identity politics. There's no strong sense that anyone is cast for reasons outside of the narrative; gender, race, and sexuality are not at the forefront. There’s little evidence of ideological uniformity. The world presents multiple perspectives, suspicion, loyalty, and betrayal, and doesn't treat dissent in a heavy-handed, one-note fashion. No cartoonish villainization of alternative viewpoints here.
