It heavily leans into forced representation, with characters seemingly defined more by checkboxes than motivations. The diverse cast is all but flawless, muddling conflict and growth. In our opinion, the storytelling takes a clear backseat to ideological signaling.

Traditional values and institutions in "Sinners" are depicted as relics of a problematic past. Masculinity is mocked, families appear dysfunctional, and religion is mostly a punchline. Empowerment comes only through rejection of these roots, painting the old in an unflattering light and the new as universally virtuous.

Alternative worldviews are either villainous or non-existent in this film. Anyone voicing a stance deviating from the modern orthodoxy is quickly dispatched, ridiculed, or cartoonishly evil.
