In our view, 'Code of Silence' puts identity at the forefront, with lead roles seemingly determined more by demographic checkboxes than by organic character fit. Narrative depth takes a back seat to diversity highlights, resulting in characters who feel more like flagbearers than actual people. The story often pauses for overtly ideological moments, sometimes harming immersion and plausibility.

The show appears to treat traditional ideas about family, religion, and masculinity as dusty relics or even sources of conflict, and these values rarely get a fair shake. Male characters, in particular, are either sidelined or function as cautionary tales. The show’s attitude toward heritage often leans toward critique or ironic detachment.

Alternative and traditional perspectives are almost entirely absent or portrayed through exaggerated, unsympathetic characters. There's little debate or nuance, with all main characters nodding in agreement on modern ideological ideas. The show rarely, if ever, makes space for a meaningful challenge to the prevailing worldview on display.
