Flying Witch is refreshingly straightforward: its characters fit organically into the story without any forced representation or hyper-competence. The narrative is driven by slice-of-life themes and gentle magic, not ideological messaging. There is virtually no emphasis on character identity politics, making the show a breath of fresh (non-woke) air compared to recent trends.

The show warmly embraces traditional family dynamics, respect for nature, and Japanese folklore. There’s no agenda to undermine religion, masculinity, or culture, if anything, Flying Witch gently celebrates them. Gender roles are portrayed naturally, and cultural touchstones are honored rather than twisted or mocked.

Alternative perspectives aren’t villainized, and there’s no sense that the show is pushing a particular modern ideology. Characters have diverse personalities and worldviews, but everything remains light, sincere, and free of lecture or ideological uniformity. It simply doesn't play the modern 'woke' game.
