Trollhunters mostly focuses on well-developed characters and traditional hero arcs. While there is some diversity among supporting cast members, the story isn’t built around identity politics. Most characters earn their place via actions and character traits, rather than ticking boxes. The show prizes classic adventure tropes with a sincere tone.

Traditional values like family, friendship, and personal responsibility are very present. Masculinity is represented through Jim’s growth and courage, while other characters also get meaningful arcs. There’s little effort to subvert traditional roles overtly, and the show avoids taking unnecessary swipes at culture or religion.

Although the show embraces modern sensibilities of inclusivity, it does not portray traditional norms or perspectives as inherently villainous. There is no glaring ideological monoculture, characters have distinct voices and personalities. Conflicts are portrayed without obvious virtue-signaling or caricaturing dissent as evil.
