The show largely follows the framework of Dan Brown's original story, but there are moments where identity-driven casting and forced diversity feel out of sync with the established story world. Some roles are noticeably adjusted to tick representation boxes rather than deepen the narrative. It's not the worst offender, but the prioritization of modern identity politics is apparent.

The series takes on secret societies and ancient traditions, occasionally portraying religious and cultural institutions as backward or problematic. Masculinity is somewhat sidelined in favor of showcasing elevated, ultra-competent female and diverse characters. Traditional values certainly don't get a heroic treatment here, but it's more subtle than overt.

Dissenting worldviews are predictably associated with villainy or ignorance, while modern, progressive attitudes are shown as enlightened and admirable. There is little room for authentic debate, and characters largely share uniform moral assumptions on key 'woke' topics. It's not total ideological groupthink, but the bias is clear.
